Vignette MD at sales points
To purchase the vignette Md, you can go to one of the Moldova Agroindbank (MAIB) branches on the list, or you can use the payment terminals of the companies Qiwi, Paymaster, MMPS and PayNet, available at border crossing points, PECO stations and shopping centers.
The validity of the vignette purchased on the spot starts on the day of payment and ends at 23:59 on the last day of the selected period.
To buy the Moldova vignette, you will need the following information:
- Vehicle registration number;
- Name of the driver;
- CNP or passport number and series, in the case of foreign citizens;
- Country of origin of the vehicle;
- Vehicle type;
- The period for which the vignette is desired;
- The amount corresponding to the road tax in Moldovan lei;
It is important to keep the payment receipt throughout your stay in Moldova, as it must be presented to the authorities in case of a check.
It should be noted that for any vignette Md with a value greater than 45 euros, a commission of 1.5% of the amount or 7 Moldovan lei, charged by the bank, will be applied.

- Fill in/select the required information such as vehicle type, vignette activation date, validity period, country of vehicle registration, registration number, driver’s name, CNP or passport number and series, and email address where you will receive payment confirmation.
- Confirm the displayed amount, which represents the value of the vignette converted from euros to Moldovan lei, at the rate of the National Bank of Moldova.
- You have 4 online vignette payment options. The most convenient is to pay with a bank card (MasterCard or Visa), especially if you are not yet in Moldova.
- If you are already in Moldova, you can pay the vignette obtained online in cash. You need to print the payment order and find a PayMaster, QIWI, MMPS terminal or a post office to complete the transaction.
The “Check invoice” option available on the website allows you to check the validity of the vignette Md and download a PDF version of it. All you have to do is print the proof of payment and go on your journey.

Fine for vignette MD
You have to be very careful with the purchase of the vignette in Moldova, because if you haven’t paid the vignette and you consider that you “got away” while driving on Moldovan roads, you will definitely receive a fine at the border. The Moldovan authorities check when you leave the country if you have a valid vignette.
The fine for non-purchase or non-payment of the vignette MD may vary depending on the circumstances. The amount of the fine is as follows:
- Between 2,250 and 3,000 Moldovan lei for a period exceeding 7 days in which the vehicle is in Moldova and does not have a certificate attesting the payment of the vignette.
- Between 3,000 and 9,000 Moldovan lei in case of repeating the same sanction during the same year.
Vehicles over 3.5T
Vehicles with a total mass exceeding the threshold of 3.5 tons have a higher rate for road tax in the Republic of Moldova. Depending on the weight of the vehicle, there are two distinct categories:
- Trucks with a total mass between 3.5 and 10 tons.
- Trucks with a total mass between 10 and 40 tons.
The rates for these categories may vary, and vehicles with a higher total mass will pay a higher rate for road tax in the Republic of Moldova.
